Taking some time out (read: procrastinating) from school work to update.

Saw Dad drive wicked fast this weekend. Luckily, he wasnt the guy to loose a tire and hit the wall. Cause that wasnt scary or anything. When the unknown person at our apartment complex turns their wireless back on, I'll upload the pictures. I hope he knows he's depriving people of internet.

Went to the evil empire (Wal-mart) on Sunday to go food shoping. I also bought a spagetti stir/spoon thingy, which I have wanted. How exciting!

Toyota cashed my check. I now own the corolloa. It still doesnt have a name. Or a gender. I guess its because I didnt really own it till now. We were tossing ideas around, but couldnt think of anything good.

I guess I should do some work. Or nap in the library. hmmm...

Grad School is busy

... way busier than I thought it would be. Well, thats a lie. I always knew it would be busy, just not life-consuming. Classes are intense. I thought having only one class a day would be cake, but its more like Jell-o. I feel all wobbly in the brain when Im done for the day, yet I still have tons of reading/research/graduate assistant type things to do. It'll be all worth it. Im sure. In like, 3 years.

I joined the gym across the street to get some more energy in life. I've been doing well with going, and its amazingly cheep. I keep waiting for them to spring something on me, like, your first month was cheep, and your second month will involve you cleaning showers. Hopefully not.

Josh is busy too. He has a bunch of education classes that seem really fluffy, with lots of busy work. And he is way busy at work, dispatching and the such.

One huge update: the corolla is paid off. Well, the check was sent, they just have to cash it and send me the title. No more car payments!! yea!!

Heading down to MA this weekend to see "October-fest" and more importantly, watch Dad do crazy speeds in a really fast car legally. Should be good. I'll try to remember to bring the camera.

Douglas

Pat's recent post about seeing long lost friends, in combination with being alone in the appartment for another 8 days had me taking a trip down memory lane. Many friends who I never thought I would loose touch with, I have. Luckily Josh was no where near the accident, nor did he even hear about the accident until Emily called him to tell him. He called me to tell me he was ok. Of course, he called while I was asleep, and I was mildly confused. About 4 people at work today gently asked me if I had heard from Josh last night. I am very touched by the concern. thanks everyone.

More painting at work. getting ready for classes to start again. We mostly agree with the more common reviews that its a pretty decent flick. At some points it stretched on, but it was very good to the book, and had some decent humor. If you watch it, keep an eye out for some of Tim Bourtons' old flicks/themes/ideas within this movie. Also, I read that 10 of those squirels were actually TRAINED to do what they do in the movie. Overall, pretty decent, not as trippy, and a good show for the whole family.

This weekend brings us the 6th installment of Harry Potter. I am a weee bit of a Harry Potter fan, and while I will not be staying up all night to buy it, I definatly will purchase a copy later on down the week.

This weekend also brings the last weekend Josh is here before going away to the National Boy Scout Jamboree. He will be gone for 16 days, leaving me here by my lonesome. I forsee copious partaking in snacks and NetFlix movies. I will be sad without him :-( if anyone happens to be in the Dover area, feel free to stop by for some of those snacks and movies.

The construction in our office is going well, and I will get those pictures up. Really. I mean, I have nothing to do for 16 days after all.

Demolition

My company found some money for renovations, and are re-doing the dispatchers desk / office. They were supposed to start on thursday, but decided to start today. Without warning, they came in with saws and hammers and started ripping my counter top apart. I barely had time to shut down my computer before dust started flying and hammers banging. I managed to break the phone, and set off our silent alarm at least twice. The UNH PD came by to check out what happened, and seemed a little surprised at the mess. We'll be painting on Monday. I'll post some pictures to show the mess. One about Bugs. While I dont think that will be my only topic, its a good one to start with.

At my old apartment, there were no trees. I mean it. Not one for a couple of 1/4 miles or so. Lots of ghetto, no trees. There was however, a bright spot. No bugs. I dont really like bugs, as any member of my family (or the residents of Cornell Drive Milford) will tell you. There was once a bug on my bike, everyone found out about it. So, No bugs = good. Here, we have trees. Lovely trees which produce O2 and shade and birds. They also produce bugs. We have tried traps, spray, even yelling at them. They seem to like to traps. A spider (the worst bug) built its web on top of it in a few hours today. So either we have trees, or a bug free life. Tough Choice.
