Monday

Today is very Monday - ish. Taking some time out (read: procrastinating) from school work to update.

Saw Dad drive wicked fast this weekend. Luckily, he wasnt the guy to loose a tire and hit the wall. Cause that wasnt scary or anything. When the unknown person at our apartment complex turns their wireless back on, I'll upload the pictures. I hope he knows he's depriving people of internet.

Went to the evil empire (Wal-mart) on Sunday to go food shoping. I also bought a spagetti stir/spoon thingy, which I have wanted. How exciting!

Toyota cashed my check. I now own the corolloa. It still doesnt have a name. Or a gender. I guess its because I didnt really own it till now. We were tossing ideas around, but couldnt think of anything good.

I guess I should do some work. Or nap in the library. hmmm...

Grad School is busy

... way busier than I thought it would be. Well, thats a lie. I always knew it would be busy, just not life-consuming. Classes are intense. I thought having only one class a day would be cake, but its more like Jell-o. I feel all wobbly in the brain when Im done for the day, yet I still have tons of reading/research/graduate assistant type things to do. It'll be all worth it. Im sure. In like, 3 years.

I joined the gym across the street to get some more energy in life. I've been doing well with going, and its amazingly cheep. I keep waiting for them to spring something on me, like, your first month was cheep, and your second month will involve you cleaning showers. Hopefully not.

Josh is busy too. He has a bunch of education classes that seem really fluffy, with lots of busy work. And he is way busy at work, dispatching and the such.

One huge update: the corolla is paid off. Well, the check was sent, they just have to cash it and send me the title. No more car payments!! yea!!

Heading down to MA this weekend to see "October-fest" and more importantly, watch Dad do crazy speeds in a really fast car legally. Should be good. I'll try to remember to bring the camera.

Douglas

Pat's recent post about seeing long lost friends, in combination with being alone in the appartment for another 8 days had me taking a trip down memory lane. I also brought my yearbooks from home after my last stay and those brought back some memories. Many friends who I never thought I would loose touch with, I have. Sometimes it distance , but more than a few have been people getting married and having families. Two of my closest friends in high school have gotten married, at least one has kids, and many other friends are also following that path. I only keep up on gossip through my mom, and about once a month she has news on someone's wedding, kids, or life in Douglas.
I may get homesick once in a while for certian people or places, but I think I like New Hampshire.

Covert bathroom repairs

Intermittant internet has prevented previous updates, so here we go
- Josh made it home nice and safe. And he's leaving again for a class. 9 days on a canoe trip for class credit. It makes my neurology class sad.
- Transit is still transit. Broken buses left and right.
- Florida was very warm and toasty. Spent a lot of time in a pool, floating, and getting warm. Uneventful flights and lots of shopping.
-I broke our toilet. the handle came off in my hand. Luckily Josh is quite the handy man and with some help from Ace hardware, we're functional again.
- Its raining.

Josh is not dead...

Thankfully. What a horrible way for the kids to start the Jamboree. Luckily Josh was no where near the accident, nor did he even hear about the accident until Emily called him to tell him. He called me to tell me he was ok. Of course, he called while I was asleep, and I was mildly confused. About 4 people at work today gently asked me if I had heard from Josh last night. I am very touched by the concern. thanks everyone.

More painting at work. getting ready for classes to start again. Just found out I have to attend a full day orientation about my assistantship. But I did find out that the ammount I am getting paid is way more than I thought. So I can save money for next year. yea student loans!

I shouldnt watch the food network. Its bad for me.

Painting

Josh made it to the Jamboree safe and sound. Its hot and muggy, and he's cutting down trees and setting up for the chitlens who arrive tomorow.

I have been just hanging out, working a little extra. I painted our office upstairs today for 6 hours.

Julie came up last night, and I actually stayed up till 10:30 pm watching the Red Sox game! it was a minor miracle.

Two out of three of our dryers are broken. Silly Maytag.

That creepy comercial...

You know, the one with the girl running on the tredmill, and then the eyes are chasing after her? It bothers me. Kinda along the lines of the Seasame Street Epidsode when Ernie took off Bert's nose. Even at 3 years old, that just bothered me. The eyes are creepy too.

Due to popular demand (popular being my brother, and demand being one of the two people who actually read this site) here is our current NetFlix Que... pretty well balanced. Not to many horror flicks, but a surprising ammount of Adam Sandler (at least, for me)
Voyager Seasons 6 and 7
Hotel Rwanda
Finding Neverland
Napoleon Dynamite
I, Robot
Signs
Kinsey
The Aviator
Spanglish
50 First Dates
Punch Drunk Love
Oceans’ 12
Family Guy Season 1
Futurama Season 1
The Incredibles
Ladder 49
The Notebook
Chicago
Fahrenheit 9/11
Super Size Me
The Butterfly Effect
A Beautiful Mind
The Bourne Supremacy
The Italian Job
Big Fish
Anger Management

I had a charter yesterday delivering some of the Communication Sciences and Disorders grad students and clients to the local TV station. Surprisingly, many (most) of the grad girls knew who I was. I know the classes are usually small, but they all knew my name and that I would be starting in the fall. I guess I really am going to grad school now!!

** Edit: Josh has reached Deleware with minimal delays. Only one overturned tractor trailer on 84 (which is lethal anyway). Only a three hour trip in between him and the Jamboree.
